A fairy and an alien walk into a bar.
The fairy soon sits at a small table, but she couldn’t help but notice the alien begin speaking with the barman. She couldn’t help but hear in on their conversation, and it turned out that the alien was asking the barman about the area!
The fairy swiftly rises and politely offers the alien to show them around, to which the alien accepts.
They both leave the bar to explore, the fairy showing her new friend the places around. Eventually, they both encounter a small cafe. The fairy tilts her head, she’s never seen a place like this before. The alien offers to go and try out this seemingly new cafe, to which the fairy happily obliges.
They made their way inside, to be greeted by cats a plenty. The fairy’s eyes began glowing, she’s never seen so many adorable kittens all in a single building! She zips around, petting and trying to play with every cat she sees. Whilst this occurs, the alien chuckles and goes to ask for a menu.
Soon, the fairy sits down with the alien to see what they could order. The fairy couldn’t help but look in awe at all of the elegantly made sweets and drinks; the excitement spreads to the alien too, as they also admire all of the cute looking desserts.
After the two place their orders, the fairy asks on what the alien does as a job.
The alien talks of all the space travel they do, seeing multiple planets that house multitudes upon multitudes of colourful plants, animals, and bugs. They further elaborate on the beauty of the star systems that they visit, from their carefully woven orbits around their stars, to the varying colours that are blotted about the cosmos.
A beautiful job, they declare.
The fairy looks astonished about all the travel that they’ve done.
She innocently asks what was their favorite planet.
The alien chuckles and brings up a small, but varied planetoid. One that had 2 moons in a unique orbit that’d allow the two to eclipse each other. The alien continues by describing the planet’s variety of biomes. From it’s luscious, densely forested mountains to beautiful deserts of cyan sand with colossal, spiraling, violet succulents. They get lost in their own words as they describe the stranger-than-fiction ecosystems, with it’s technicolour bugs that span from the size of an ant to a large dog. Though they swear that these bugs are harmless.
After a small pause, the waiter comes and serves the two their drinks. The alien takes a sip of their wildly coloured tea as they ask what the fairy does as a job.
She begins by stating that she’s a dream fairy, and continues by talking about the dreams that she looks at, and harvests to give to all that need to “drift through the sleepy sea”. From as young as the loudest infant, to as old as the wisest grandparent, the fairy collects wild dreams and gives them to all those that sleep. She further adds that it doesn’t go as easily as she likes, though, the dreams that she gives sometimes become distorted and turn into nightmares. And she hates having to see beautiful dreams become nightmares.
The two take a moment to appreciate the silence, only for the alien to ask what types of dreams are the fairy’s favorite.
Her eyes glow once more, she chimes in that her favorite dreams are the ones where people get to see something about themselves that they didn’t know in a fun way. Of course, she also fawns over cute dreams. Namely the ones where people get to play, or just be themselves in a brilliantly pastel coloured land with sweets all about! She smiles as she sips her bubble tea.
They both continue their conversation, and play with the multitude of cats, and have both found themselves to be having a very swell day.
